Richard qualified as a finance lawyer with Lovells in London before moving into the real estate securitisation team at Barclays Capital as an investment banker. At Barcap, he was responsible for originating, structuring and securitising large loans secured on real estate assets. Following Barcap he joined Europa Capital, where he was responsible for obtaining, structuring and negotiating finance for assets the fund was acquiring across Europe, as well as the provision of mezzanine finance to third party clients. Most recently he was a Managing Director at CR Investment Management, where he was responsible for the growth of the business generally as well as establishing and running a number of international offices and working with hedge fund and private equity capital on the acquisition of non-performing loan portfolios on assets located across Europe.
Daniel started his career at ING Bank where he was an originator in the Loan Syndications Division focusing on Central Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He subsequently joined a boutique real estate structured finance business, which focused on arranging senior debt and mezzanine finance for investors and developers in the UK and Europe. Most recently Daniel was Head of Real Estate Finance at London & Capital, a private wealth management business where he was responsible for managing and restructuring a European loan book of in excess of £750m. Daniel has a wide range of experience advising on refinancing maturing and distressed debt facilities, recapitalisations and acquisition finance raising. Daniel holds a First Class Honours degree from the University of Leeds.
Philip is a Chartered Surveyor who qualified in 1995 and has 25 years in the real estate industry. He worked at property advisory firm DTZ, which now forms part of Cushman & Wakefield, where he specialised in valuations. He also worked in planning & development, rating and LPA Receivership management. He advised major property companies, institutions and banking clients on all sectors and throughout the UK. Philip joined London & Capital, a wealth management company, in 2006. He became the UK Real Estate Fund Manager and was responsible for 2 portfolios of circa £500m of institution quality property located in the England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey. In addition, he oversaw the investment management of about 100 individual property holdings owned by private clients of the firm. Philip was responsible for acquisition, investment management and disposals.
Tanya is a qualified lawyer and started her career at a boutique law firm in London where she advised central and local government clients in respect of large scale developments, town centre regenerations, major infrastructure and procurement projects, and extensive property portfolios. Tanya then joined a London based niche residential property developer as General Counsel and Head of Legal where she was responsible for advising and reporting to the board on all legal matters including acquisitions and disposals, finance documentation, construction contracts and strategic corporate decision making. Tanya has extensive transactional experience and can offer practical advice and identify workable solutions to complex legal issues.
Tim joined Barclays on their graduate scheme before moving into their real estate finance team. He subsequently worked in the real estate finance teams at RBS and Deutsche Postbank before moving to Pbb. Initially at Pbb, Tim worked on the restructuring side, before becoming the Head of UK Syndications. He is a graduate of the University of Nottingham and has completed the Real Estate Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Robert joined Brotherton from boutique property trading and development firm SAS Investments where he spent almost six years as Group Finance Director and with a key focus on both the residential and commercial market. Rob is a qualified Chartered Accountant started his career with accountancy firm Kingston Smith, before moving into industry where he worked for wealth management firm London & Capital.
Max graduated from Durham University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Max then graduated from the University of Reading with a MSc in Real Estate with a focus on the finance streams. Before Brotherton, Max worked for Barratt China in Shanghai selling prime London residential real estate.
